Stephens Central Library

River Walk
The River Walk features four miles of trails peppered with gardens, sculptures and wildlife.
Water Lilies
The International Waterlily Collection features a beautiful display of lilies from around the world.
Various downtown dance clubs and pubs offer every kind of live music, from country and rockabilly to jazz and Tejano. San Angelo also offers all of the big box stores and restaurant chains found in metropolitan areas, and two multiplex movie theaters are also popular entertainment destinations.
Arts
Whether it’s the Starlight Studio at The Chicken Farm Art Center, a favorite for ceramics enthusiasts, live performances at the Angelo Civic Theater and the San Angelo Symphony, or the monthly Downtown Stroll of the Cultural Arts District, San Angelo truly is an arts epicenter.
Chicken Farm Art Center
The Chicken Farm is a compound of galleries, studios and restaurants, featuring work from artists of all mediums. First Saturdays are always special with their live music and vendors.
Museum of Fine Arts
The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, a work of art in its own right with architecture designed to reflect the Concho River, features both renowned permanent collections and diverse traveling exhibitions.
Performing Arts Center
The newest gem in the local art scene, the San Angelo Performing Arts Center hosts numerous music, theater and dance performances, and is home to Ballet San Angelo, offering classes for all ages.
Culture
Of course, with rolling hills full of mesquite and prickly pear cactus, this West Texas town wouldn’t be complete without a rodeo and a historic Civil War Era fort.
Fort Concho
The Fort Concho National Historic Landmark was established as a U.S. Army post in 1867. Today, it’s a popular tourist destination consisting of 23 original and restored buildings, housing several museums and hosting the annual “Christmas at Old Fort Concho” festival the first weekend of December.
Sheep Spectacular
San Angelo has been nicknamed the “Wool and Mohair Capital of the World.” The Sheep Spectacular celebrates this tradition with dozens of painted fiberglass sheep that can be spotted all around town.
Stock Show & Rodeo
The San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, held every year during the last two weeks in February, offers an authentic West Texas experience. It is ranked as one of the top 10 largest rodeos in the U.S., and with all of the sights and sounds of the midway, it has something for everyone to enjoy.

San Angelo boasts an average of 251 sunny days each year. The weather allows the city to offer a variety of outdoor options for all interests.
Lakes
Boating, fishing, wind sailing and wakeboarding are popular activities at nearby Lake Nasworthy.
Parks
Outdoorsy types can enjoy hunting, camping and cycling in areas surrounding town, including the San Angelo State Park.
